90 Days of Gratitude

Hey everyone,

About three months ago, I was feeling kind of unhappy about my life. I had so many things I wanted to do and a completely different idea as to what I wanted my life to be like. Things were going way too slowly and it seemed as if I was no where close to my goals.

Everyone always talks about gratitude being so important every single day of your life but it can be so difficult when you feel like you have nothing to be grateful for. That is exactly what prompted me to take on this challenge.

I decided to take on the 90 Days of Gratitude Challenge. It is essentially writing down at least one thing I was grateful for every single day for 90 days in a row. It can be as simple as one line long, or I could write an entire page about it.

To make things easier at the start, I used prompts from different gratitude challenges to inspire me to write about something in the morning. You will be surprised at the things you might be able to come up with once you’ve gotten the flow of things.

One of the most important things to remember about this challenge is quality over quantity. By this, I mean you have to be genuinely grateful for that thing you write. If you are merely writing a long list of things you think you should be grateful for, but you’re really not, then it’s pointless.

When you’re writing down something you are grateful for, you will truly feel the gratitude in your heart. You don’t have to try and force it. That is when you know you are doing it right.

There are many reasons to do a gratitude challenge. They say do something for 21 days and you’ll build a habit, but do it for 90 days and you’ll build a lifestyle. With this challenge, you’ll build a lifestyle of gratitude and fulfillment. It will shift your perspective to a more positive one towards your life.

A lot of us are not aware of how much we have to be grateful for in our life. This challenge will not change your reality, it will change the way you see things in your life. It will shift you from a victim or poor mindset to an abundant one.

If you decided to start this challenge and you looked up gratitude journal prompts but could not think of anything you genuinely feel grateful for, then start with this. Write a list of all the wishes you have made that have been granted and be grateful for it.

For example, “Thank you so much for the scholarship I received last year,” or “I am so grateful for the all expense paid holiday I went on this month”. Once again, focus on the feeling of gratitude.

The truth is, we all really do have so much to be grateful for, we may not always realize it. This 90 day challenge basically shone light on how abundant I truly am and it showed me all that I have to be grateful for. You will have to do this challenge to understand how much it can change your life.
